What is mapping? Mapping is a layman's term for GIS or a Geographical Information System. Mapping is a feature that I can include into your web site design to graphically show the location of any number of things. We could simply map the location of your business to help people find your business' physical address. To map lots of things, we could query a database with lat/longs to map the location of thousands or real estate properties across the nation, even around the world. Again because the information is stored in a database you could query by any field or feature such as price, number of levels, type of home, etc...
